These terms are an agreement between you and Anjadhe LLC, which runs Zen master. By using Zen master, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Zen master is not a crisis, medical or mental health service. If you are in danger or thinking of ending your life, please reach a person now.

Who can use Zen master

You must be 18 or older. The app asks you to confirm this before you talk with the teacher and when you sign in, and by using Zen master you confirm that you are.

What Zen master is

Zen master offers conversations with an AI teacher shaped by the zen tradition, guided practices, a daily teaching, a journal, a library of articles and a quiet Stillness space. It is meant for calm, reflection and learning.

What it is not

• Not therapy or medical care. The teacher is an AI, not a person, a therapist, a doctor or a lineage holder. Nothing it says is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Do not stop or change any treatment or medication because of anything in Zen master.
• Not always right. AI replies can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuited to your situation, even when they sound sure. Use your own judgement, and look to qualified people and a living teacher for what matters.
• Not watched. We do not monitor conversations and cannot respond to emergencies. When the app shows crisis lines, it is a pointer, not a promise that anyone will reach out.

Your account

Your browser gets an account the first time it keeps anything. If you sign in with an email address, it becomes your account's address, and you can sign in with it on other devices; subscribing to the plan needs signing in first. Keep access to your email secure, since sign-in links are sent there. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

What you bring here

What you write, and what the app keeps from your sittings, remains yours. You give Anjadhe LLC permission to store it, send it to the AI services that answer you, and otherwise process it only as needed to run Zen master for you, as described in the privacy policy. We do not use it to train AI models.

Using Zen master well

Please do not:

• use Zen master for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass or deceive others;
• try to get around the daily message allowance, the checks on new accounts, or other limits, for example by making many accounts or using scripts;
• scrape, overload, probe or disrupt the service, or try to reach parts of it that are not meant for you;
• use the teacher's replies to present yourself as a professional, or as advice given by a person;
• copy or resell the app, its library, its teachings or its design, beyond personal use.

Allowances and availability

The teacher is offered free, with a daily message allowance, and with a larger allowance on the plan; there is also an overall spending limit. When a limit is reached, the teacher rests until the next day. We may change the free allowance, the AI models used, or the features offered, and we may pause or end the free service. We try to keep Zen master running well, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors.

The plan

The plan costs $4 a month or $36 a year, in US dollars, plus any tax that applies where you live. It brings the teacher's larger model, a larger daily allowance, and memory across sittings. The plan is sold through Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), our reseller and merchant of record: Polar takes payment in advance, charges and pays any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipts, and its own terms of sale also apply to your purchase. Your card details go to Polar and its payment processor and never reach us.

• It renews automatically. Your plan renews at the end of each month or year, and you are charged the same price each time, until you cancel.
• Cancel any time. Open the plan page and choose Manage billing, or write to us. When you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew; you are not charged again.
• Refunds. We do not refund partly used periods, except where the law requires it. If something has gone wrong with a charge, write to us and we will make it right.
• Price changes. If the price changes, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
• Failed payments. If a renewal cannot be charged, Polar will try again for a short time; if it still fails, the plan ends and your account returns to the free plan. Nothing you keep is deleted.
• Deleting your account ends your subscription at once, with no further charges.

We may also give the plan for a time without payment; such a plan ends on its date and never charges you.

Other services

Zen master relies on services from other companies, such as hosting, AI models and email delivery. We are not responsible for their services, and links to other websites are provided for convenience only.

Our content

The app, its design, its library articles, its daily teachings and their plain readings are provided by Anjadhe LLC for your personal, non-commercial use. Library articles credit the sources they rely on. Photographs are used under the Unsplash License and the moon image courtesy of NASA, as credited on the About page.

Ending things

You can stop using Zen master and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk, and we will try to tell you when we do.

Disclaimers

Zen master is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Anjadhe LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Anjadhe LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Zen master, and our total liability for any claim relating to Zen master will not exceed fifty US dollars (US$50). Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or Zen master will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and Anjadhe LLC consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Zen master after that means you accept the updated terms.
